Sales Representative

Job Title: Sales Representative

Reports To: Depot Manager
Duty station: Mwanza, Tanzania


The job holder will be responsible for promoting and selling products or services to customers, engaging with potential clients, build relationships, and identify their needs to offer suitable solutions. Sales representative will also negotiate contracts, handle customer inquiries, and meet sales targets. They will collaborate with marketing teams to develop strategies and participate in sales meetings and events. Strong communication, persuasion, and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.



  • Serve customers by selling products and meeting customer needs
  • Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing a daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
  • Focus on sales efforts by studying existing and potential volumes of dealers
  • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques
  • Recommend changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
  • Meeting targets – Daily/Monthly/Yearly target agreed
  • Cooperate with the marketing department to develop various promotional activities
  • Manage and develop market share of your territory


  • Bachelor in sales & marketing or any relevant discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing
  • Manufacturing industry experience would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
